![]() ![]() Even that said, if you are still running the original cartridge/stylus that came with that table and are really just after "more detailed presentation" I can highly recommend the LPGear "Vivid Line" styli that i mentioned in my previous post. I'm not terribly familiar with ATLP120 line and did not realize the initial version were not switchable to allow preamp bypass. ![]() I'm finally ready to consider upgrading from my ATLP120 (love direct drive, but can't bypass the internal preamp and ready for a more detailed presentation).Ĭircling back on this. New to the forum, please forgive any missing conventions :) Evidently the preamp will allow the cartridge to 'shine' or not and doing so to 'present' or not a wider 'sound stage' of what the cartridge is capable to deliver. More detailed presentation is more to do with the cartridge and stylus. Using the ATLP120 cart and headshell on the "new" turntable will also allow you to compare the integrated preamp difference between your ATLP120 and your amp. No experience with these turntables presented above but with a budget of $500 if you'd be willing to consider used/second hand turntables you could stick with a direct drive turntable option (of the better kind even) for that money.Īs I'd much prefer to do that if I were you, but that's me only. With the release of the Debut Carbon EVO, I think i finally have a good few options just barely clearing the Under $500 category:Īny experience or thoughts from this group would be incredibly helpful I don't see myself upgrading components anytime soon, so hoping for the most complete package here. 19:57I'm finally ready to consider upgrading from my ATLP120 ( love direct drive, but can't bypass the internal preamp and ready for a more detailed presentation). ![]()
